Sustainable Catalysis and Energy Materials (SCEM) Lab

Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE)

"Learning never exhausts the mind. It only ignites it."
- Leonardo da Vinci
At SCEMLAB the ongoing research explores novel nanostructured based on noble metal free materials with potential applications in green fuel production, including hydrogen, ammonia, and urea. Our mission is to develop innovative catalytic materials that enable the efficient, low-emission transformation of abundant feedstocks - such as water, nitrogen, and carbon-containing waste—into valuable fuels and chemicals. Our work spans electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, and material design, with applications in energy, environment, and industry. We are particularly motivated by the global need to decarbonize industry and agriculture, and to find scalable alternatives to fossil-based chemical synthesis. Collaboration, creativity, and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship define our approach as we work toward a greener tomorrow.
